Another bite from the Shark…

One of the concepts from FJ Shark's "How to Be The Jerk Women Love" is something he calls "expecting more." It's a great example of how to handle a woman to let her know that you have value.

Example of “Expecting More”
One night last week I went to Dunkin Donuts for a "Box of Joe" that 
holds 10 cups of coffee. 

Inside were 2 night shift employees that I never saw before. 

It looked like I was the only customer that had been in there for a 
while so I asked the female employee if she'd mind making a new fresh 
pot because the other one was probably there for a while. 

Example of: EXPECTING MORE

She did, and it took a few extra minutes.

The other employee was new and he accidentally ripped the bag inside 
the box that holds the coffee.

While they were watching the coffee leak all over the floor they both 
looked at me for my reaction.

There must have been an uncomfortable moment of silence for the two 
of them because they thought I was going to start complaining and 
leave.

(Use of SILENCE)

The girl immediately said:

"While I put another pot on for you, let me get you a dozen free 
donuts."

I said: "Thanks" and picked them out.

Years ago I would have played the role of a martyr and said "No 
thanks, that's ok."

So don't be a martyr either. 

For years I didn't let people "give" to me and I had to be the only 
one giving. 

Later I found out that by being a martyr, (MARTYR: a willing victim or prey), I was doing more harm than good by depriving them of the feeling of giving to me.

And that’s one of the most important life lessons that you don’t want to learn the hard way.
