You’ve got her number in your phone and you’ve waited two days. Now is the time to call and set up that first meeting. Knowing good first date ideas is key to kicking off a successful relationship. This is a crucial step. This is make it or break it time.

1. Making the call.

The first step in going on that first date is to set it up. The important thing to remember when you first call her is that if you don’t get her on the line during that first call, don’t leave a long drawn out message. Don’t talk about calling to ask her out. Don’t tell her how great she is and how much fun you had meeting her and how you can’t wait to see her again. Don’t do anything like that.

Instead, your message should basically be this: “Hey Cathy, this is Jack. We met at Dan’s party. Give me a call.”

Period. Short and sweet. Give her two days to return your call. If she doesn’t after two days, you can leave a brief message. “This is Jack. I thought we had a lot to talk about the other night and was hoping to continue the conversation. Give me a call.”

If she doesn’t return this second call, move on. Game over.

2. Asking her out.

When you are in contact with her, ask her first how she is. When she is done talking, say that your week was filling up but you still had Tuesday and Thursday night free if she was available. (Or whatever two nights you choose.) Only give her two options. If she likes you, she will make one of these options work. If there are extenuating circumstances (say she is out of town that week), you can say you’ll have to move into next week to arrange a time.

 3.Know Where Not To Go. Sometimes knowing where to avoid going is as important as deciding where to go. Before we talk about where to take her, let’s talk about places you should avoid:

* Strip club. This should be obvious, but you’d be surprised how many guys think this will go over. Of course, it doesn’t. Even strippers don’t want to go to a strip club on a date.

* Dinner and a movie. This is boring, trite, and gives you zero chance to really get to know one another.

 4. Where To Go. And last, but not least, let’s talk about where to go on that crucial first date. Here are some places to choose from:

• Coffee Shop
• Bar
• Café
• Beach
• Amusement Park
• Midnight picnic
• Art or museum exhibit
• Tourist attraction
• Your place for dinner
• Trendy new club
• Top of a skyscraper
• Sports game
• Walk through the park, on the beach, in the city, in the woods, etc.

These will give you some ideas, but the key is to brainstorm something that is creative and gives you a chance to build attraction and get to know one another.
