How about the\u00a0same thing with lying? Disrespecting you? Stealing from you? What did you do? Did you\u00a0leave them? Or did you give them just… one… more… chance…? You have some serious issues with your personal boundaries.\u00a0What exactly are boundaries?<\/strong><\/p>\n Well, in a nutshell, they are your own personal rules of\u00a0conduct that you will accept from the outside world.\u00a0A boundary is a line that should not\u00a0be crossed by others in their dealings with you<\/strong>. When this line is crossed, there will, and\u00a0most importantly,\u00a0MUST<\/strong>\u00a0be consequences. If she does \u201cA,\u201d then \u201cB\u201d will happen. Period.<\/p>\n We, as men know that women are constantly testing us. And yes, the women know it\u00a0too. They are actually not testing you, per se, but they are testing your boundaries.\u00a0They\u00a0need to know how far they can push before you push back.<\/strong>\u00a0They want to know that you\u00a0are a strong man with a \ufb01rm resolve; when you say something, you mean it. This helps\u00a0them respect and believe in you, they feel safe with you knowing that you have their\u00a0back, so to speak.<\/p>\n I heard it said that a woman was asked why she was testing her man, and she\u00a0responded, \u201cHow can I know you will stand up for me, if you won\u02bct stand up to me?\u201d This\u00a0espouses the quintessential need for boundaries in a relationship. And they serve a\u00a0great purpose in the realm of con\ufb01dence for you.\u00a0They are the walls of your structure<\/strong>.<\/p>\n We discussed your foundation in the Kai Zen piece earlier (HERE<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0HERE<\/a>). I was married and we were having some\u00a0troubles, as couples often do after 13 years. I \ufb01rmly believed in our love and our vows,\u00a0so I immediately sought after every way I could to save our marriage. I realized I had\u00a0woefully let myself and my wife down in the Kai Zen department, so I ferreted out all the\u00a0knowledge I could \ufb01nd to heal and strengthen our relationship. Divorce was not an\u00a0option.\u00a0There was love and it could save us<\/strong>.<\/p>\n But sadly, my attempts were too late. The damage had been done.\u00a0She had already\u00a0done the one thing I could never forgive<\/strong>. Adultery. And with my best pal, no less. Dick.<\/p>\n And with that, she had crossed over my line and busted through my boundary. And yes,\u00a0there had to be a consequence. And mine was swift. Within 2 days I had \ufb01led for\u00a0divorce, cancelled all insurances, changed the locks on the doors (she had a place to\u00a0stay, believe me), and began liquidating and dividing things up, and prepared to move to\u00a0another state.<\/p>\n It was terrible<\/strong>. I was distraught, horri\ufb01ed, and completely lost. Everything I knew and\u00a0loved had just come crashing down, family, friends, business, everything. I did not want\u00a0to lose her, but I already had. There was nothing I could do.\u00a0I had to be strong in my\u00a0conviction<\/strong>.<\/p>\n This is the hard part of being a man – repercussions<\/strong>. She did \u201cA,\u201d I had to do\u00a0\u201cB.\u201d There was no other way. This is a drastic example to be sure.
