Then you\u2019ll tell her how much you relate and establish rapport with her.<\/p>\n I’ve taught hundreds of guys how to meet single girls<\/a>, and one of my favorite conversational tactics is using Cold Reads.<\/strong><\/p>\n This technique, which is used by psychics and palm readers, is actually some of the best dating advice. This is a way to make the other person feel like you understand what makes them tick, and what they\u2019re going through, without them telling you.<\/p>\n The trick with Cold Reads is that the \u201cobservations\u201d you\u2019re making apply to virtually anyone. Yet there are psychological reasons why they work so effectively. Human beings are self-centered, and we generally accept claims about ourselves that reflect how we wish to be.<\/p>\n Also, people are vain. We want to be seen as unique. Even though Cold Reads are usually vague generalizations\u2014which would apply to your sister, just as they would to the hottie in the VIP room at Embassy nightclub\u2014we want<\/em> to agree with the person who skillfully \u201creads\u201d us, and we\u2019ll believe they have unusual powers of perception.<\/p>\n So forget about asking the generic \u201cjob interview\u201d questions. (\u201cSo what\u2019s your name,\u201d \u201cwhere are you from,\u201d etc.) Get ORIGINAL<\/strong> with your strategy in order to capture her attention and impress her with your charm and confidence.<\/p>\n If I\u2019m in a club, talking to some babe who\u2019s acting a bit hard to get, I\u2019ll use a Cold Read:<\/p>\n \u201cY\u2019know, Andrea, I get the sense that a lot of guys get the wrong idea when they first meet you. They think you\u2019re stand-offish and a bit cold. But you\u2019re actually a lot more sensitive, and funny, than people realize.\u201d<\/p>\n Another example: \u201cI get the sense it takes you a while to trust people, because you\u2019ve been hurt before by someone who was really close to you. But the people that do<\/em><\/strong> earn your trust, you\u2019re always there for them.\u201d<\/p>\n Or, “I can tell that you\u2019re someone who usually plays it safe and doesn\u2019t take chances, but sometimes you\u2019ve regretted it because you missed out on an opportunity. But then other times, you\u2019re spontaneous and adventurous, and you do<\/em> take chances\u2026and that\u2019s when you\u2019ve had some of the best times of your life.\u201d<\/p>\n If she agrees with my \u201cread\u201d\u2014and honestly, I\u2019ve never had a woman totally disagree\u2014I\u2019ll follow up by telling her that I can relate, because I\u2019m the same way. This builds a bond between me and her. In order to solidify the bond, I\u2019ll tell a quick story\u2014one that illustrates how I\u2019m the same type of person.<\/p>\n (If you\u2019ve got five Cold Reads ready to use, you should also have five short stories to illustrate how you embody those same qualities.)<\/p>\n Here\u2019s another cool one: “I can tell something has been weighing on your mind. You’re on the verge of making an important decision in your life, aren\u2019t you.”<\/p>\n Pretty much all of us, at any given time, are contemplating a big decision (or one that is big to us, at least). Regardless, she\u2019ll be surprised and impressed that you knew<\/em> that about her. She\u2019ll volunteer more information about herself\u2014and now you\u2019re engaged in a deep, authentic conversation instead of trying to fill awkward silences.<\/p>\n Much of what a cold reader does is simply repeating back what the subject has said. If she affirms that she\u2019s on the verge of making a big decision, you should nod wisely and say, “Yes, that’s right, and you\u2019re really having a hard time with it.” Act as if you already KNEW<\/strong> what she was going to say!<\/p>\n Some other Cold Reads that are vague yet seem \u201cprofound\u201d:<\/p>\n \u201cI can tell you have a strong need for others to like and admire you, but you also have a tendency to be critical of yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cYou\u2019ve got a hidden talent, or a passion, that most people don\u2019t know about, and you want to pursue it\u2014 but something is holding you back.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAt times, you\u2019re really social and outgoing. But other times, you\u2019re reserved and introverted.\u201d<\/p>\n Once you add Cold Reads to your conversations with women, you\u2019ll get a feel for which ones work best.
