Teddy Bear Syndrome<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sorry to say, but you\u2019ll never end up in her bedroom if you\u2019re on the path leading you away from it. And that road is called \u201cFriendship\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Comedian Bill Burr once advised NOT to be the equivalent of a teddy bear to a woman if your goal is to seduce her. It\u2019s a metaphor he came up for a guy who\u2019s neutered himself for the sake of getting close to a girl.<\/p>\n<p>Sad part is, this guy will never break through that \u201cLet\u2019s Just be Friends\u201d glass ceiling because he already handed over his manhood without knowing it.<\/p>\n<p>Case in point: have you ever gone out of your way to accommodate a girl\u2019s outlandish whims or requests, like driving her around or helping her pick out her cocktail dress for her company dinner (and you\u2019re not her \u201cplus one\u201d?).<\/p>\n<p>Men need to stop this desperate, needy behavior that doesn\u2019t bring them any closer to women. You\u2019re only putting yourself in the same \u201ccompartment\u201d of her life as her female friends.<\/p>\n<p><strong>#2: \u201cNO\u201d is Your New Magic Word<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So what\u2019s a guy to do if he isn\u2019t supposed to take the friends route with a girl?<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ll tell you what you need to do instead \u2013 grow a pair and MAN UP.<\/p>\n<p>Be the masculine guy you\u2019re supposed to be and espouse all those traits that women crave.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m talking about not being worried over her opinion of you. Have a little nerve to push back a bit, give her \u201ccrap\u201d and call her out (in a funny, lighthearted way) if she\u2019s treating you like one of her girlfriends.<\/p>\n<p>And that means turning her down when she tries to take you on one of those activities best suited for her gal pals.<\/p>\n<p>This is especially true if you have to wreck your plans for the week just to go the \u201cextra mile\u201d for her.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019ve been the guy who agrees with women on absolutely everything, this is your chance to STOP doing that.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s face it \u2013 men and women are different, and with that comes disagreements every now and then. Then later on, ask her out on your own terms instead.<\/p>\n<h2>By refusing to be her teddy bear and taking the initiative to make plans, you\u2019re already reclaiming your masculinity.<\/h2>\n<p>She won\u2019t realize what\u2019s happening, but she\u2019ll actually like that you\u2019ve turned the tables on her. So don\u2019t worry about rocking the boat, so to speak.<\/p>\n<p><strong>#3: Get Busy Living \u2013 With or Without Her<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You know the problem with saying \u201cyes\u201d all the time to women?<\/p>\n<p>It gives them the impression that you\u2019re willing to fall off the face of the Earth just to please them.<\/p>\n<p>Women may think that this is what they want in a man, but trying to fit into this \u201cideal guy\u201d mold doesn\u2019t do anything for them, attraction-wise.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, be a man and keep living your life in a way that works for you &#8211; even if she\u2019s in the picture. If you have something important coming up, don\u2019t be afraid to tell her.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s actually healthy to let her know that you have other stuff going on aside from her (in a gentle, subtle way of course). It wouldn\u2019t hurt for her to think from time to time, \u201cWhat could be more important to him than going to the flea market with me and picking out homemade earrings?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If you keep dropping your plans at the drop of a hat to look like the \u201cperfect guy\u201d, you\u2019ll be operating from a place of insecurity \u2013 and spinelessness.<\/p>\n<p>In the end, she\u2019ll inexplicably find herself less and less attracted to you, even though you think you were just trying to please her.<\/p>\n<p><strong>#4: Don\u2019t Rely on Her to Boost Your Ego<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So naturally, you\u2019ll want to keep doing the things that make you an interesting guy even if you can\u2019t stop thinking about her.<\/p>\n<p>Most men underestimate the importance of having that crazy, wild-eyed zeal for life.
